The exhibition brings together works such as videos, drawings, and an installation of four young artists from Switzerland and Brazil: Seline Baumgartner (b. 1980, Zürich), Flavio Cury (b. 1973, Sao Paulo), Lena Maria Thüring (b. 1981, Basel), and Regina Parra (b. 1981, Sao Paulo). Their practices explore encounters and dis-encounters through different aspects of visibility in our society; individual behavior, cultural identity, and territory. Their works involve journeys and paths through crossings and transformations.
Say The Same Thing is an attempt to reach an unexpected meeting point. One can try to understand and know what the other might think, something that starts to be revealed and predict when in a conversation. But this is not a game of only understanding the other, but also oneself. Where is one placed in relation to the other? Where does one end and the other begin?

Die Ausstellung vereint Videoarbeiten, Zeichnungen und eine Installation von vier jungen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus der Schweiz und Brasilien: Seline Baumgartner (*1980, Zürich), Flavio Cury (*1973, Sao Paulo), Lena Maria Thüring (*1981, Basel) und Regina Parra (*1981, Sao Paulo). Ihre Praktiken erforschen sichtbare Aspekte von gesellschaftlichen Begegnungen und Konfrontationen: individuelles Verhalten, kulturelle Identität und Territorium. Bei ihren Arbeiten kreuzen sich die Wege und verändern dabei ihre Richtung.
Say The Same Thing ist ein Versuch, eine unerwartbare Gemeinsamkeit zu finden. In einem Gespräch versucht man zu verstehen, was der andere denkt und weiß, etwas das erst im Laufe eines Gespräch offenbart werden kann. Aber das ist nicht nur ein Spiel, um nur den Anderen besser zu verstehen, sondern auch sich selbst. In welchem Verhältnis steht man zu dem Anderen? Wo hörst Du auf und wo fängt der Andere an?
