Chofo is an experimental project by artist duo Salo Asencio and Carolina Peña, in which sound spontaneously transforms into the rhythm of declaiming, generating a vibrant and melancholic atmosphere revealing the darkest and deepest feelings of being.
Chofo project was born in Chile, as a reaction to its violence, insecurity, precariousness, injustice, deaths and eternal dictatorship that forces those who experience it into self-exile, in order to heal through sound and word…
We invite you to join us in this process of self-healing and emotional release through this beautiful practice!
Salo Asencio and Carolina Peña are a Chilean artist duo based in Zurich, where they have been living for two years, after they decided to leave their home country for political reasons. Salo is a hairdresser, she draws and makes noises with any instrument. Lucianne, on the other side, is a literature teacher, writes poetry and does face makeup. Together they have a project of noisy and melancholic poetry, called „Chofo, Música y Poesía“, and when they want to dance they also have their project as DJs called „Me tiene chata“. They also carry out a program on Radio Lora „Qué dura la cola“, dedicated to making visible the creations of women and dissidents from Chile and the world. In addition, every friday at Feministisches Streikhaus, they perform “Soli-Frisseur”, an inclusive hair-salon for non binary people, inter and trans persons, as well as women and children.

Chofo ist ein experimentelles Projekt des Künstlerduos Salo Asencio und Carolina Peña, bei dem sich Klang spontan in den Rhythmus des Deklamierens verwandelt und eine lebendige und melancholische Atmosphäre erzeugt, die die dunkelsten und tiefsten Gefühle des Seins offenbart.
Das Projekt Chofo entstand in Chile, als Reaktion auf die Gewalt, die Unsicherheit, die Unsicherheit, die Ungerechtigkeit, den Tod und die ewige Diktatur, die diejenigen, die sie erleben, ins Exil zwingt, um durch Klang und Wort zu heilen…
Wir laden dich ein, sich uns in diesem Prozess der Selbstheilung und der emotionalen Befreiung durch diese schöne Praxis anzuschließen!
Salo Asencio und Carolina Peña sind ein chilenisches Künstlerduo, das seit zwei Jahren in Zürich lebt, nachdem sie aus politischen Gründen beschlossen hatten, ihr Heimatland zu verlassen. Salo ist Friseurin, sie zeichnet und macht Geräusche mit allen möglichen Instrumenten. Lucianne hingegen ist Literaturlehrerin, schreibt Gedichte und schminkt sich. Gemeinsam haben sie ein Projekt für laute und melancholische Poesie namens „Chofo, Música y Poesía“, und wenn sie tanzen wollen, haben sie auch ihr Projekt als DJs namens „Me tiene chata“. Außerdem haben sie eine Sendung auf Radio Lora mit dem Titel „Qué dura la cola“ , in der sie die Arbeitsweisen von Frauen und Dissidenten aus Chile und der ganzen Welt vorstellen. Außerdem führen sie jeden Freitag im Feministischen Streikhaus „Soli-Frisseur“ auf, einen inklusiven Friseursalon für nicht binäre Menschen, Inter- und Trans-Personen sowie Frauen und Kinder.
