Some of Ayumi’s projects were TIME BANK (2010): making a new local currency out of marmalade and All My Cycle (2010-2011): one-and-a-half year body experience of the natural cycle of sustenance, fertilization and regrowth in collaboration with several soil scientists. Since 2012 she was working on exhibitions with workshops on creating Terra Preta soil substrate for urban gardening from the participants‘ body waste.

After carrying out participatory soil art projects in Europe and Asia, Ayumi mastered the production of hygienic soil substrate, whilst understanding that parents are highly interested in reducing the huge amounts of baby diaper waste. She developed the social enterprise DYCLE Diaper Cycle UG in 2018, a system for parents, offering them 100% compostable diaper inlays, which after use, are transformed into healthy soil, ready to plant fruit trees in circular economy.

Ayumi Matsuzaka, Japanese, co-founder of DYCLE – Diaper Cycle, based in Berlin Germany. Originally, a conceptual artist, exploring the human role in energy and material cycles, through participatory art interventions, during the last 10 years.

Ein Auswahl von Ayumis Projekte sind TIME BANK (2010): Herstellung einer neuen lokalen Währung aus Marmelade und All My Cycle (2010-2011): eine eineinhalbjährige Körpererfahrung des natürlichen Kreislaufs von Ernährung, Düngung und Nachwachsen, in Zusammenarbeit mit Bodenwissenschaftlern.

Seit 2012 arbeitet sie an Ausstellungen mit Workshops zur Herstellung von Terra-Preta-Bodensubstrat für urbanes Gärtnern aus den Körperabfällen der Teilnehmer.
Nach der Durchführung von partizipativen Bodenkunstprojekten in Europa und Asien erlernte Ayumi die Herstellung von hygienischem Bodensubstrat. In diesem Prozess erkannte sie, dass Eltern sehr daran interessiert sind, die riesigen Mengen an Babywindelabfällen zu reduzieren und gründete 2018 das Sozialunternehmen DYCLE Diaper Cycle UG. Diaper Cycle bietet 100% kompostierbare Windeleinlagen an, die nach Gebrauch in gesunde Erde umgewandelt werden, um Obstbäume in der Kreislaufwirtschaft zu pflanzen.
