The repercussions of colonialism and racism in Switzerland were in front our eyes before the current debate – and they still will be here. How to act? We would like to go „back“ to Glissant’s idea of Relation as a possibility to create the necessary solidarity to act against colonialism and racism. We will read and discuss Glissant’s Poetics of Relation.
Decolonize Zurich is a reading and action-oriented group. Decolonization aims to question and overcome current asymmetrical constellations. We take postcolonial theories as the starting point of our reflection on action. Decolonial problematization in the public is central to transforming patterns of thought and expanding the canon of knowledge.
